SHUSHANIG CAMPERS WELCOME ARCHBISHOP ANOUSHAVAN IN NEW JERSEY
His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, was welcomed by the 65 participants and the staff of Camp Shushanig, held at Sts. Vartanantz Church in Ridgefield, NJ, on Wednesday, Aug. 3. The week-long camp, which began on Monday, Aug. 1, is run by 18 counselors and teachers. The day starts off with a prayer in the church, followed by a lesson from Very Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, Pastor. Afterwards, the children have Bible classes, arts and crafts time, dance lessons, and water games outside. Breakfast and lunch are also served between activities.
On Wednesday, August 3, the campers enjoyed a special gaming truck, in which they played video games with each other. A petting zoo was also provided for the younger kids —they relished petting, feeding, and even riding the animals. Later in the day, the Prelate visited the camp, blessing the campers and joining them for a group picture. He highly commended the organization of this social and educational initiative, and the commitment of the volunteers. The camp will continue its activities through August 5.
