SOORP ASDVADZADZIN CHURCH CELEBRATED THE EIGHTH DAY OF THE ASSUMPTION OF ST. MARY WITH MASSIVE TURNOUT

On the eighth day of the Feast of the Assumption of St. Mary, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at Soorp Asdvadzadzin Church in Whitinsville, MA.

The Prelate then joined the community for their annual picnic, with more than 700 people attending the event. The Prelate then presided over the Blessing of the Grapes Ceremony, assisted by Rev. Fr. Mikael Der-Kosrofian, Pastor; Very Rev. Fr. Ardag Arabian, pastor of Holy Trinity Church of Worcester, MA; Rev. Fr. Bedros Shetilian, pastor of St. Gregory Church of Indian Orchard, MA, and Rev. Archpriest Aram Stepanian, pastor emeritus of St. Stephen’s Church, New Britain, CT. Archbishop Anoushavan praised and thanked God for the beautiful weather and gave a brief explanation of the blessing of the four corners of the world to the multitude on the church grounds. The event was, once again, a record breaker for the community—and featured music by John Berberian, Bruce Gigarjian, Mal Barsamian, Jason Naroian and Ron Tutunjian as well as a generous luncheon prepared by members of St. Asdvadzadzin Church.
