On Friday, January 27, the head of the Maronite Church, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Rai, paid a visit to His Holiness Catholicos Aram I to discuss the delayed presidential election in Lebanon.
Archbishop Shahe Panossian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy in Lebanon, Stepan Der Bedrossian and Krikor Mahseredjian, Co-Chairs of the Lay Council of the Holy See of Cilicia, and MP Hagop Pakradouni, head of the Armenian parliamentary bloc, were in attendance.
During the meeting, it was decided to make consultations with Christian leaders in Bkerke, followed by a gathering with the Christian members of the Parliament, to work to reach a common approach and facilitate the election of a president.
