On Sunday, May 28, St. Illuminator’s Church held a special Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Republic of Armenia, presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, with the participation of Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Pastor; Rev. Fr. Vahan Kouyoumdjian, Visiting Pastor of Holy Cross Church (Troy, NY), and altar servers on the 105th anniversary of the first independence and the establishment of the first Republic of Armenia on May 28, 1918. The prayer service followed a requiem service for the heroes fallen in the battles of Sardarabad, Pash Abaran, and Gharakilise and for our present-day martyrs in the struggle for Artsakh.
