THE FIRST 30 YEARS OF NERSES THE GREAT, CELEBRATED IN YEREVAN

As we reported, on Thursday, June 29, the 30th anniversary celebration of the Nerses the Great charitable organization operating under the auspices of the Eastern Prelacy took place in the Hagop Baronian State Theater in Yerevan, in the presence of more than 1,000 people. The event was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, who had traveled to Armenia for this occasion. Actor Arman Navasardyan served as MC. The message of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, was read by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian. 

Speakers at the event included the executive director of the Nerses the Great Organization, Tigran Galstyan; the director of the Gavar Orphanage, Naira Khantanyan,  the president of the Union of Writers of Armenia, Eduard Militonian, and Artsakh Bakhshyan, son of a martyred freedom fighter of the first Artsakh war. They spoke about the Nerses the Great Organization and the benefits it has brought to social, charitable and other spheres of life in Armenia. A high-quality artistic program was offered too, with the participation of singers David Amalyan, Arsen Grigoryan, Armine Amalyan and Armine Hayrapetyan, the traditional song-dance ensemble “Garin” and the “Datev” brass band, sponsored by the Nerses the Great organization, took part.

The event concluded with a reception, during which special certificates of appreciation were presented by Archbishop Anoushavan, on behalf of the Prelacy, to the executive director of the Nerses the Great Organization, Tigran Galstyan, and office manager, Varditer Saghatelyan, for their thirty years of dedicated work.
