The participants in the one-year Teachers’ Training Program sponsored by the Armenian National Education Committee (ANEC) are now acquiring skills for the teaching of Armenian history. Twenty-five teachers completed the cycle of six lectures on Armenian Language and Literature offered by Dr. Hagop Tcholakian between September and November.
The second part of the course is devoted to Armenian history, with four lectures by Dr. Mher Hovhannisyan and two by Dr. Vartan Matiossian, the Executive Director of the Eastern Prelacy. Dr. Hovhannisyan delivered his first one on December 2. The following classes will be held on December 16, January 13 and 27, and February 10 and 24. Their focus is on history teaching, methodology and resources, as well as providing general historical knowledge.
The goal of the course is to enrich the knowledge of Armenian subjects by teachers at East Coast Armenian schools, which will complement their pedagogical skills and contribute to improve the level of teaching for the future professional cadres, which will come from the new generations.
