Letters from Armenia

HAYK – 12/14/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This letter is from Hayk* who is sponsored by Hagop and Ica Kouyoumdjian

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

We don’t know you personally, but you became a very close friend. This is Hayk. I am a 7th grader in Martiros Saryan middle school #86. I am an honor roll student and I love my school and my classmates.

I do sports, swimming, and chess. I am presently going to “Armat Engineering Center” and “Tumo Center”.

I am the older son of 44-Day War hero Marat. We live in Yerevan with my mom and brother. I want to become a computer programmer. I work a lot to achieve my goal, but my biggest dream is for the peace in my country, so that we never have wars and do not lose our loved ones.

We promised out mother that we will be good people and worthy sons. My brother and I will always keep and honor our father’s memory.

We would like to meet you one day.

Love,

Hayk
