PRELATE PRESIDES OVER ST. SARKIS FEAST AT NAMESAKE CHURCH

On Sunday, January 28, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Sarkis Church in Douglaston, NY, on the occasion of the name day of the church. In his homily, the Prelate referred to the conduct of St. Sarkis, stressing that every Christian, as a soldier of faith, must remain conscious and alert in the spiritual struggle, to prevail over every temptation that evil puts in our path, following the example of Christ.

Following the Divine Liturgy, during a luncheon served at the parish hall, there was a performance by the Huyser Music Ensemble. Rev. Fr. Nareg Terterian, Pastor, thanked all collaborators and parishioners for their unconditional support, in particular the committee that organized the name day event. He then invited Archbishop Anoushavan to deliver a certificate of acknowledgment to Deacon Zaven Varjabedian. The Prelate praised Deacon Zaven for his service and merits, as well Fr. Nareg for the vitality of the parish.
