THE UNLIKELY WITNESSES: WHAT WOMEN IN THE GOSPEL TEACH US ABOUT LEADERSHIP IN THE CHURCH TODAY
On Wednesday, March 6, the Eastern Prelacy held its fourth Lenten Program, cosponsored by St. Illuminator’s Cathedral. The program featured an abridged Husgoom service, followed by a lecture, and concluded with table fellowship.
Mrs. Nayiri Baljian Bell explored the fascinating topic of “The Unlikely Witnesses: What Women in the Gospel Teach Us About Leadership in the Church Today.” Mrs. Bell, a seasoned religion teacher and currently the Sunday School Director of St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church of Watertown, Massachusetts, holds a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She highlighted six leadership domains where women (as well as men) serve in the church, citing examples from the New Testament and contemporary life in the Armenian Church.
