NEW COLLABORATIVE PROJECT BETWEEN THE PRELACY AND THE ARMENIAN THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

Archpriest Fr. Nareg Terterian, Pastor of St. Sarkis Church in Douglaston, New York, delivered a lecture on “The Identity of the Armenian Clergyman and His Mission to Teach and Heal” to the students of the Armenian Theological Seminary of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia in Antelias, Lebanon.

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, the three-session lecture, held from March 11 to 13, was organized by the office of the Dean of the Seminary, Fr. Nareg’s alma mater.

“Wherever a clergyman goes, whatever he does, he must always be conscious that he is the mirror of Christ and the Holy Church,” Fr. Nareg said. “When people look at him, they must see Christ and the Church through him.”

In his lectures, Fr. Nareg also discussed the essential attributes of a devoted clergyman, with an emphasis on preaching, teaching, and healing.

At the end of the three-day course, Very Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian expressed his deep gratitude to Archbishop Anoushavan for his support of the Seminary’s request. He also thanked Fr. Nareg and presented him with a commemorative gift.
