ELECTIONS OF RELIGIOUS AND EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

In its final session on Saturday, May 31, the National Representative Assembly gathered in Watertown, Massachusetts, elected members of the Religious and Executive Councils and representatives of the World General Assembly. Very Rev. Fr. Ardag Arabian, Rev. Fr. Mikael Der Kosrofian, and Rev. Fr. Hrant Kevorkian were reelected as Religious Council members, while Judge Krista Haroutunian, Richard Kanarian, Tamar Kanarian, and Raffi Ourlian were reelected as members of the Executive Council. Houry Daghlian completed her term as Executive Council member, and Alina Kochoumian was elected for the position.

After the ratification of the elections by His Holiness Catholicos, Archbishop Anoushavan presided over the first meetings of the Religious and Executive Councils on Thursday, June 5.

During the online meeting of the Religious Council, Very Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was elected chairman, and Rev. Fr. Hrant Kevorkian, Pastor of St. Sarkis Church, of Dearborn, Michigan, secretary. The other members of the Religious Committee are: Very Rev. Fr. Ardag Arabian, Pastor of Holy Trinity Church of Worcester, Massachusetts; Rev. Fr. Mikael Der Kosrofian, Pastor of Soorp Asdvadzadzin Church of Whitinsville, Massachusetts; and Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Pastor of St. Illuminator’s Cathedral, New York.

The Executive Council convened an online meeting and reelected Col. Aram Sarafian as Chairman; Richard Kanarian as Deputy Chairman; Tamar Kanarian as Secretary, and Raffi Ourlian as Treasurer. John Kulungian, Aram Hovagimian, Judge Krista Haroutunian, Archdeacon Hagop Khachadourian, and Alina Kochoumian are members at large.
