ARCHBISHOP ANOUSHAVAN VISITS SYRIAC ORTHODOX CHURCH VICAR

On Monday, December 22, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, visited His Eminence Archbishop Dionysios Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church for the Eastern United States, on the occasion of Christmas and New Year. They discussed matters of faith and morality affecting their jurisdictions, as well as prospects for cooperation. Archbishop Anoushavan told Archbishop Kawak that this year the Prelacy has chosen as the principal theme for its activities the 1300th anniversary of the Council of Manazkert, which is among the most important councils of the Armenian and Syriac Churches. Together, they decided that in the coming year they will organize special lectures and seminars around this theme, as a testimony to the expression of Christian Orthodox faith in the past and present.
