“LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY” (Colossians 3:16)

Last week, St. Illuminator’s Cathedral concluded the inaugural session of “Hearing and Reading Scripture Together: The Daily Program,” focusing on the Book of Genesis. This unique initiative aims to promote biblical literacy among the faithful by providing a forum for short, disciplined daily Bible reading, Monday through Friday. Thirty participants joined the program, which was led by Archdeacon Shant Kazanjian (Director of Christian Education of the Eastern Prelacy).

Each session included a simple and brief rule of prayer: the Lord’s Prayer, a Psalm, and a concluding prayer from the Book of Hours (Zhamakeerk) of the Armenian Church.

Reading the Word of God on a regular basis is one of the most important—if not the most important—duties for all Christians and has been so since the inception of the church. As the Apostle Paul writes, “All scripture is inspired by God [Asdvadzashoonch – Breath of God] and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the person of God may be proficient, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The Daily Reading Program continues with The Book of Exodus. The program is open to everyone. Registration details are provided below.
