Maria – 01/29/2026

This week’s letter is from Maria (*), who is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Diran Kochyan.
Dear Sponsor,
This is Maria. I am already 16 years old, and this year I got promoted to 11th grade in school. I am doing my best to be a serious and responsible student. I go to school with love and interest, because I know that the knowledge I acquire in school is the basis for my future. In the afterschool program, I am doing English. Next year, I will also take Armenian, because I want to be ready for the final state exams which will determine my university prospects.
My dream is to become a translator. I want so much to learn different languages, because each language you learn brings its own world with it, a new culture and a new way of thinking. I think that being a translator will give me the opportunity to unite people from different countries, help them understand each other, and share their experiences.
My typical day is usually about my studies in school and after school. When I have spare time, I like to read books, listen to music, and hang out with my friends. I also spend a lot of time with my family, and I help my mom with house chores and anything else I can be helpful with. For this year, I have made many resolutions. I want to be more organized and focused. Sometimes, it is difficult to do everything you plan for the day, but I am trying to manage my time better.
Withing you all the best, dear Sponsor. May God bless and protect you.
