MELANIE KELEDJIAN ADDRESSES WESTERN ARMENIAN TEACHING CHALLENGES

On Saturday, March 7, the third session of the Teachers’ Training Program hosted Melanie Keledjian, an experienced middle and secondary school teacher in France, as well as a university lecturer, who gave a lecture titled “Western Armenian Today.”  

In her talk, Ms. Keledjian discussed the difficulties and challenges of teaching Western Armenian in the United States and European countries, as well as approaches to address them.   

The main theme of the Teachers’ Requalification Program course organized by the Educational Council for the 2025–26 academic year is “Teaching Armenian as a Second Language.”  

The previous lecture was held on January 17, with Artemis Mgrdichian as speaker. Ms. Mgrdichian, a teacher at St. Stephen’s Armenian School in Watertown, Massachusetts, shared her extensive experience and introduced the attendees to effective methods.
