PRELATE PRESIDES OVER FEAST OF THE HOLY MARTYRS OF 1915 AT ST. ILLUMINATOR’S CATHEDRAL

On Friday, April 24, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, presided over the Divine Liturgy held at St. Illuminator’s Cathedral in New York commemorating the feast of the Holy Martyrs of 1915 on the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Archpriest Fr. Nareg Terterian, Pastor of St. Sarkis Church in Douglaston, New York, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the homily. Very Rev. Fr. Vache Balekjian, Pastor of Sts. Vartanantz Church in Ridgefield, New Jersey, and Archpriest Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Pastor of the St. Illuminator’s Cathedral, participated in the services.  

Following the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Anoushavan presided over the blessing of Madagh, which was followed by a march of remembrance and protest outside the consulates of Turkey and Azerbaijan, organized by the Hyortik, Moush, and Arsen chapters of the Armenian Youth Federation in New York and New Jersey.
