THREE BOOKS ABOUT DAVID OF SASSOUN

The dedication of the Armenian Heritage Walk in Philadelphia, built around the statue of Young Meher by Armenian American famed sculptor Khoren Der Harootian (1909-1991), is an opportunity to revisit a classic of Armenian literature. Young Meher, the son of David of Sassoun, is the protagonist of the fourth and final section of the Armenian epic. Three books are available at the Prelacy Bookstore: David of Sassoun, the complete translation of the epic by Zaven Nalbandian; David of Sassoun, retold by David Kherdian, and David of Sassoun: Critical Studies on the Armenian Epic, a collection of essays. You may purchase them online or by writing to books@armenianprelacy.org.
