NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LADIES GUILDS HOLDS 2026 CONFERENCE

The 2026 National Association of Ladies Guilds (NALG) Conference was held on May 14–15 in conjunction with the National Representative Assembly, bringing together dedicated representatives from parishes across the Eastern Prelacy. Hosted by the St. Sarkis Ladies Guild of Douglaston, NY, the conference focused on strengthening parish life through transparency, financial stewardship, youth engagement, and the preservation of Armenian faith and heritage. Delegates shared successful parish initiatives, discussed bylaws modernization and fundraising strategies, and emphasized the importance of mentoring younger generations through hands-on church involvement. Special visits from clergy, including His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate, Archpriest Rev. Nareg Terterian (St. Sarkis Church, NY), and  Archpriest Rev. Mesrob Lakissian (St. Illuminator’s Cathedral, NY), reinforced the vital role women continue to play as the backbone of parish communities. The conference concluded with the election of the 2026–2027 Executive Committee and renewed commitment to unity, service, and the future growth of the Ladies Guilds throughout the Prelacy. The new Executive Committee is composed of Yn. Maggie KouyoumdjianChairSusan Erickson, Treasurer; Dawn Varjabedian – Secretary; Yn.
