PRELATE LEADS WEEKEND OF FAITH AND FELLOWSHIP IN PROVIDENCE

In what has become a cherished tradition, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, spent the weekend of June 6-7 in Providence, R.I., sharing moments of faith, community, and joy with the clergy and faithful of Sts. Vartanantz Church. The weekend opened on Saturday with a bicycle ride led by the Prelate and Rev. Fr. Kapriel Nazarian, Pastor, together with a group of parishioners, and continued on Sunday, with the Divine Liturgy and the parish’s annual church picnic.
The weekend activities began with a scenic bike ride on the East Bay Bike Path. The group rode 33 miles from East Providence to Colt State Park in Bristol, taking in the views of coastal harbors and Narragansett Bay in a joyful opportunity for fellowship and fresh air on a beautiful New England day.
On Sunday morning, the Prelate participated in the Divine Liturgy, in a welcoming community where his presence is always a source of encouragement and spiritual strength. Following the services, Archbishop Anoushavan joined the community for the annual church picnic, where he spent time with young parishioners and continued to share warm moments of conviviality with them and the other faithful.
The highlight of the afternoon was the blessing of the madagh (memorial luncheon) led by Archbishop Anoushavan. His heartfelt and inspiring words at the conclusion of the blessing left the entire Providence community uplifted, bringing a lively weekend to a fitting close.
