SALT & LIGHT HOLDS SECOND GATHERING IN PROVIDENCE
On March 18th, the Salt & Light Youth Ministry met for their second session of the season at Sts. Vartanantz Church in Providence, Rhode Island. Following the opening prayer by Rev. Fr. Kapriel Nazarian, Pastor, the group enjoyed a homemade meal of tacos, fruit salad, cookies and snacks.
The group meal served as an occasion for the teenagers to explore ideas for social projects and other ways to serve the community. Among the attendees was Peter Zaytounian, 14, who attends Western Hills Middle School in Cranston, RI. Peter is the son of Lucy and Levon and the older brother of Michael. In addition to enjoying basketball and math, Peter looks forward to meeting friends and socializing in the Salt and Light gatherings. There was also Ani Manzo, who is 14 too and attends St. Andrew’s School in Barrington, RI. In addition to taking part in the group discussions of Salt and Light, she serves as a treasurer on the board of the Armenian Youth Federation and assists in planning activities. Her interests include American history as well as dancing and performing in theater.
The parish’s next Salt and Light meeting is on April 8.
