PRELATE REPRESENTS CATHOLICOS AT TRIBUTE TO PATRIARCH BARTHOLOMEW

On Wednesday, September 24, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, attended the tribute celebration held at Lincoln Center in New York in honor of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who was recognized as the 2025 laureate of the Templeton Prize.

Speakers at the event included Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, who praised the Patriarch’s devotion to the advancement of faith as well as his contributions to the scientific world.

In his remarks, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople stressed that the time has come for science and religion no longer to be regarded as opposites, since both strive toward truth—albeit in different fields.

The Prelate conveyed to His All Holiness the warm congratulations of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I on this auspicious occasion.

In turn, Patriarch Bartholomew expressed his appreciation for his cooperation with Catholicos Aram I in the World Council of Churches, underscoring His Holiness’ wisdom and gift for dialogue, through which he consistently played the role of peacemaker during some of the Council’s most critical periods.
