Armenian Miniatures from Isfahan, Sirarpie Der Nersessian and Arpag Mkhitarian (hardcover)

The collection of Armenian manuscripts of the All Savior monastery of New Julfa constitutes one of the richest components of the cultural heritage of this Armenian suburb of Isfahan, Iran. From the very beginning of its establishment in New Julfa (seventeenth century), the monastery became a center of manuscript production. Copying and illuminating manuscripts became a dominant and integral part of its cultural activity. The book, with color and black and white illustrations, presents a study of the miniatures (Sirarpie Der Nersessian) and the description of those twenty-nine manuscripts to which the miniatures belong (Arpag Mekhitarian).
