Birthmark, A bilingual anthology of Armenian-American poetry (softcover)

Seven different translators translated into Western or Eastern Armenian the work of seven Armenian-American budding poets, and the result was this bilingual anthology including English originals and Armenian translations. As editor Gourgen Arzoumanian’s introduction states, the common themes appearing in the poems of this new Armenian-American generation “are rays and shades that are common among them, the unbreakable links of a broken chain; varied, compound, unique. The rest is the course of a daily life through swallowing freeways leading to new discoveries—the sea coast and the weekend’s appetite to devour the damp sand.”
