In Memoriam

DIKRAN MAHDASIAN (October 4, 1933 – December 10, 2021)

His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate, and the Religious and Executive Councils of the Eastern Prelacy learned with sorrow of the passing of Dikran Mahdasian, 88, on December 10, in Racine, Wisconsin.

He was born on October 4, 1933, in Beirut, Lebanon, to Armenak and Haiganoush (née Yeghissian) Mahdasian. He attended the Jemaran in Lebanon, where he learned four languages and excelled in athletics. The family immigrated to America in ,,,, and settled in Racine. Mr. Mahdasian was immensely proud of his Armenian heritage and was active in the local Armenian Community. He served as an Armenian school teacher, choir singer, deacon, and Board member of St. Hagop Church. He was also a long-standing member of the local ARF and ARS chapters.

Dikran Mahdasian was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother Kaloust Mahdasian along with his in-laws and many brother and sister in laws. He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons Vahan, currently chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Hagop Church, and Sarkis; brother VaruJohn (Armeeg) Mahdasian, sister Shakeh (Joe) Yahnian; sister in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church.
