His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate, celebrated Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, of Philadelphia, on Sunday, Dec. 12. Based on the Bible reading of the day, in his homily the Prelate said that we are all invited to the eternal banquet of God, an honor we should appreciate (please see the transcript of the full sermon elsewhere).

Following Divine Liturgy, His Eminence consecrated the icon of St. Nerses Shnorhali donated by Mr. and Mrs. Miro and Christine Ounjian, Dr. and Mrs. Michel and Sonia Nalbandian, and Dr. and Mrs. Jacques and Rosette Khoury.

His Eminence praised Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian for his dedication and the support of benefactors who contribute to the splendor of the church. He expressed his wish that the holy fathers of our church be always present in the life of the faithful, especially Patriarch St. Nerses Shnorhali, whose prayer “In Faith I Confess” is the daily 24-hour companion to our faith, tribulations, and all our good wishes.
