PRELATE PRESIDES OVER MEETINGS OF NEW RELIGIOUS AND LAY COUNCILS

After the elections held at the National Representative Assembly on May 14, Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, presided over the Religious and Lay Councils’ first meetings with an extensive order of business, including the election of their Executive (Tivan). On Thursday, June 2, the Religious Council met and elected Very Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, Pastor of All Saints Church (Glenview, IL), as Chairman. Rev. Fr. Mikael Der Khosrofian, Pastor of Soorp Asdvadzadzin Church (Whitinsville, MA) was elected Secretary. The other members of the Religious Council are Archpriest Fr. Antranig Baljian (Pastor of St. Stephen’s Church, Watertown, MA), Rev. Fr. Hrant Kevorkian (Pastor of St. Sarkis Church, Dearborn, MI), and Rev. Fr. Kapriel Nazarian (Pastor of Sts. Vartanantz Church, Providence, RI). 

The Executive Council, including the Religious and Lay Councils, convened for an in-person meeting on Friday, June 3, at the Eastern Prelacy offices. Hagop Khatchadourian was reelected Chairman. The Tivan was completed with Aram Sarafian, Vice-Chairman; Tamar Kanarian, Secretary, and Raffi Ourlian, Treasurer. Members at large are Houry Daghlian; Raffi Manjikian; John Kulungian; Aram Hovagimian, and Richard Kanarian.
