RECOGNIZING THE PRELACY PILLARS
On Friday, May 3, the Eastern Prelacy organized a reception at the Armenian American Social Club of Watertown (Massachusetts) to recognize the Prelacy Pillars in the New England area for their past support and ongoing contributions with the attendance of 65 people. The Pillars program has been a steady source of income for the different initiatives of the Prelacy geared toward our communities thanks to the commitment of generous donors who make an annual contribution of at least $1,000.
After welcome words by Mr. John Daghlian, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Stephen’s Church (Watertown, Massachusetts), a brief video about the manifold and expansive Prelacy programs was shown to the audience. Afterwards, Col. Aram Sarafian, chairman of the Executive Council, greeted the presents and thanked the Pillars for their longtime commitment. In his message, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, noted that “Like pillars have a fundamental role in any building, likewise the Pillars Program have a fundamental role in the activities of the Prelacy. The program was initiated by my predecessor, Archbishop Oshagan, and the Executive Council in 2003 and has been very instrumental to achieve our goals.” The Prelate also remarked that “the commitment of the pillars expresses the zeal to enlarge our projects and to fulfill our mission in different fields.”
