ST. SARKIS CHURCH IN DEARBORN MARKS MILESTONES UNDER THE PRELATE’S AUSPICES

St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church of Dearborn, Michigan, marked its 93rd anniversary on Sunday, October 12, under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, who officiated the Divine Liturgy and presided over the celebration.
The parish also observed the 63rd anniversary of the consecration of its current location on Ford Road, as well as the 15th anniversary of the ordination and devoted service of its Pastor, Rev. Fr. Hrant Kevorkian, together with Yeretzgin Tamar.
During the Divine Liturgy, the robes of the altar servers were blessed, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Raffi and Patricia Kuredjian, as well as Fr. Hrant’s new liturgical vestments, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Movses and Mary Anne Shrikian.
In his sermon, the Prelate congratulated Fr. Hrant on the anniversary of his devoted service, wishing him health and fruitful days to continue, with God’s blessing, sharing his divine gifts for the glory of the Armenian Apostolic Church. He also referred to the feast of the Holy Translators, emphasizing the fact that their spirit should not remain the past, but become an inspiration to render our cultural heritage as part of our daily life.
Following the Liturgy, a luncheon was served in the parish hall in honor of Fr. Hrant and the church’s dual jubilees. Katie Bedrossian, a member of the church youth, served as master of ceremonies, and the program included the church’s Deacons’ Choir, accompanied on piano by Emma Bagdassarova.
Fr. Hrant took the floor, offering glory and thanks to God for deeming him worthy, though unworthy, of the Holy Order of Priesthood. He also expressed his deep gratitude to all members of the community.
Archbishop Anoushavan offered concluding remarks, closing the celebration with words of inspiration and encouragement.
