HIS HOLINESS FOLLOWS CLOSELY THE SITUATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND STANDS READY TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I is following closely the perilous situation created by the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, and he is in permanent communication with the affected Armenian communities in the Middle East.
On the evening of March 3, His Holiness presided over an extraordinary session of the Central Executive Council to discuss the conflict. It has not been possible to establish contact with the Armenian prelacies in Iran due to the communications blackout.
The war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran has left a trail of death and destruction throughout the Middle East, causing panic, uncertainty, and social crisis. The Armenian communities throughout the region, naturally, are exposed to a greater or lesser degree to the current situation.
On behalf of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, His Holiness expresses his condolences for all the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured. At the same time, he calls for an end to the war and for a solution through dialogue.
The Catholicos urges prelacy officials to keep our communities away from unsafe situations and to serve community needs, always maintaining communication with the Mother See in Antelias. With His Holiness at its head, the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia is always ready to do its utmost to support the work of the prelacies and to provide assistance.
