MICHAEL PAPAZIAN DISCUSSES HOVHAN ODZNETSI AND THE NATURE OF CHRIST AT FOURTH LENTEN LECTURE

The fourth session of the six-part Lenten Lecture Series was held on March 11 at St. Illuminator’s Cathedral in New York City and was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate.
Following the Husgoom Service, Michael Papazian presented a lecture titled “St. Hovhan Odznetsi and the Nature of Christ.” Dr. Papazian is a professor of philosophy at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. His work focuses on Ancient Greek philosophy and Armenian theology. He is the author of several books, including The Doctor of Mercy: The Sacred Treasures of St. Gregory of Narek (published by Liturgical Press, 2019). He also has a forthcoming book on St. Gregory of Nareg, focusing on Naregatsi’s prayers and the Virgin Mary (Soorp Asdvadzadzin).

The series continues next Wednesday, March 18, with Rev. Fr. Stephan Baljian, pastor of St. Gregory Church of Merrimack Valley (MA), who will speak on “The Canons of the Council of Manazkert.”
